🚧 Early Beta Privacy Policy
This is an early beta version of our Privacy Policy. As engage.re develops, this policy will be refined and expanded to reflect new features and capabilities.
We are committed to building comprehensive data control features. Until these are fully implemented, please contact us directly for any data-related requests.
🔐 Our Core Commitment: You Own Your Data
Data ownership is fundamental to engage.re's design philosophy. You retain complete ownership of all personal data and content you create on this platform.
We are actively developing features that will give you full control over your data, including granular privacy settings, data export, and selective deletion. These features are coming soon.
1. Who We Are
engage.re is operated by SenseFuture ("we", "us", "our"). We are the data controller for personal data processed through this service. For any questions about this Privacy Policy or your data, please contact us at engage.re@sensefuture.org
2. Data We Collect
Account Information: When you register, we collect your name, email address, and any profile information you choose to provide.
Content You Create: This includes posts, messages, comments, and other content you submit through the platform.
Technical Data: We collect basic technical information necessary to provide the service, such as login timestamps and browser type.
We follow the principle of data minimisation – we only collect data that is necessary to provide the service.
3. How We Use Your Data
We process your personal data for the following purposes:
- Providing the Service: To operate engage.re and enable its features
- Account Management: To authenticate you and manage your account
- Communication: To send service-related notifications
- Improvement: To understand how the platform is used and improve it
Our lawful basis for processing is primarily contractual necessity (to provide the service you've signed up for) and legitimate interests (to maintain and improve the platform).
4. Your Rights Under UK GDPR
You have direct control over your data on engage.re. You can edit your profile, content, and settings at any time through the platform.
Additionally, under UK data protection law, you have the following rights:
- Right to Access: Request a copy of all personal data we hold about you
- Right to Erasure: Request deletion of your account and data ("right to be forgotten")
- Right to Data Portability: Request your data in a portable format
- Right to Restrict Processing: Request limitations on how we use your data
- Right to Object: Object to certain types of processing
During the beta period, please exercise these rights by emailing us at engage.re@sensefuture.org. Self-service tools for managing your data are being developed.
5. Data Deletion
You have the right to request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time.
To request deletion: Email us at engage.re@sensefuture.org
We will process your deletion request promptly and confirm once your data has been permanently removed from our systems.
6. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal data. We may share data only in the following circumstances:
- With Your Consent: When you explicitly agree to sharing
- Service Providers: With trusted providers who help operate the platform (e.g., hosting, authentication), bound by data protection agreements
- Legal Requirements: If required by law or to protect rights and safety
7. Data Security
We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. This includes encryption of data in transit and secure authentication practices.
Beta Service Advisory:
As a beta service, engage.re has not been subjected to the same security audits and comprehensive testing as a fully-released commercial platform. While we are doing our utmost to ensure the security and integrity of our system, we advise users to exercise caution about shared information. You should avoid submitting highly sensitive personal data that could cause significant harm if it were to become publicly accessible. Enhanced security measures will be implemented as the platform develops.
8. Data Retention
We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. When you request account deletion, we will permanently remove your data within a reasonable timeframe, except where retention is required by law.
9. Cookies
We use essential cookies required for the platform to function (e.g., authentication). We do not currently use tracking or advertising cookies.
10. Changes to This Policy
As engage.re is in early beta, this Privacy Policy will be updated as the platform develops. Significant changes will be communicated through the Service. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
11. Complaints
If you have concerns about how we handle your data, please contact us first at engage.re@sensefuture.org. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK supervisory authority for data protection.
12. Contact
